Mission Scanner Training This Training will help you with the knowledge part of the Mission Scanner Training. The presentation below will guide you through the many duties of a Mission Scanner. All flight crew members of an aircraft are required to be a certified mission scanner. This training is not intended to replace the classroom course offered by many squadrons. A classroom ground school is still required even after you have gone through the slides. A Scanner's primary responsibility is to perform the visual search of the missing aircraft from the back seat, behind the pilot. This course will take you through aircraft familiarity, including basic aerodynamics, Emergency Procedures, and Civil Air Patrol Procedures. If there are any questions, please refer them to your mentor. SQTR Worksheet: Mission Scanner (Please Print out before attending a ground school) Course Length: Approximately 3 to 6 Hours Scanner References: Other Documents: Mission Scanner/Observer Worksheet
