Staff Night

Tuesdays Meeting will be Staff Night. Staff night allows
 

members to discuss the events and the improvement made by the squadron in the previous month. This meeting also allows discussion of the following months plans. The Safety presentation from the previous Safety meeting has been placed in the safety section of the web page. For those that did not attend, it is recommended that you review the topic to continue to be ES qualified. For new members, meetings are every Tuesday at 7:00 pm, at Riverside Airport in the Civil Air Patrol building next to the Self-Serve Chevron fuel pump. Squadron 5 welcomes the newest member of its family, N968CP, a brand new Cessna 182T, and says farewell to the faithful N9353E.

Welcome to The Civil Air Patrol, San Bernardino Squadron 5 official web site, We serve the Riverside and San Bernardino Counties for Search and Rescue, Disaster Relief, and Counter drug.

The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official civilian auxiliary to the United States Air Force. Its is a volunteer oriented, non-profit organization with over 1700 units comprised of 56,000 members. Squadron 5 is the only Senior member only squadron in Group 3, and is the largest senior squadron in California Wing.

Tim Spiller's Retirement

At the Dining out Tim Spiller recieved several awards and standing ovations as we salute his service to his country through the Marines and in the Civil Air Patrol. A presentation on his time in the service was given by him and his son. The video of his Fini Flight in the Civil Air Patrol was also shown to commemorate his retirement. Squadron 5 Change of Command

On January 6th, 2009 Major Shelby Ericson relinquished command of Squadron 5 and passed the torch to Captain Joe Alverio. Captain Alverio has many complicated tasks to take on in the next year. In the loom of a diminishing United States Economy, and a squadron financial struggle, he plans to keep the squadron afloat and make the squadron more mission ready . . . Full Story

Squadron 5 has a brand new web site, and the old web page will no longer be updated.
